Oh my goodness...several realizations...

Ever wonder how, out of the blue things just occur to you and you're all like "Holy crap, I just had such and such a thought and oh my goodness now it's time to freak out and/or take control and face that thought head on"! I've had a couple that I thought I'd share with you.

1. Aside from my family, friends and aquaintences of all sorts, I realized yesterday that there is only one kind and considerate human being on this planet left. Being pregnant tells you a lot about the people you don't know. I spend half my 24 hour day in one of the world's biggest cities which means I get to see and deal with all types of people. I've been pregnant now for 34 weeks and 2 days and although I only started to really show about 4 - 6 weeks ago, no one during my commute or time walking out in the streets of the city has paid any attention or whatever. Last week I was standing up in the overpass at my home base train station because it was really cold. The overpass is about 4 pregnant me's wide across. A couple was standing on the opposite side of the overpass but farther away from the wall than they should've been to allow for passerbys to walk through between them and me. The way it shaked out there really was only about 1 pregnant me distance between us for passerby commuters. I had one hand on my stomach and as passerbyers went through with their big bulky man bags and purses they bumped me (if I had let them). I pushed them off. I didn't have my jacket zipped so it's not as if they couldn't see the baby belly but alas they are commuters and they don't pay attention to anyone but themselves, so I was left to protect me and the baby from the passerbyers. The situation irked me, but the train came and I was over it. However, as many of those type of incidents as I have had over the past 8 months, yesterday one human being made up for all human kind. I decided I NEEDED (as is couldn't have lived without) a root beer so I tottled my tooshy down to the Duane Reade downstairs in my building to grab one. On my way there walking through the building corridor I was transfixed on the toy soldier figures which lined the side wall and were taller than I am when all of a sudden out of nowhere this guy walking towards me entering a door on the side says, "Congratulations"! and gave me a little smile and was on his way. I was shocked. I said thank you and was on my way but just that little bit of human kindness went such a long way, it was a beautiful moment.

2. I just sat down at my desk and realized I only have 40 days left to go until the baby's due date. HELLO...did you hear me? Only 40 DAYS!!! That's one month plus 10 days!!!! Oh My Goodness!!!! Am I ready...yes! Is the baby's room ready...not even close!!!

3. There are 11 days until Christmas and I have one present to buy and I'm done. I know what that gift is, I just have to go get it. Then last night hubbie says we still have to shop for my family...ugh!!! I thought I was done!

4. A cupcake and a glass of milk taste really good in the morning.

5. I think root beer may be one of my cravings.

6. It's going to snow...on the day my surprise shower is supposed to be (whenever that is) and the day I go into labor.

7. Sleeping becomes more and more difficult as my arms/wrists/hands suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome more and more everyday. I can't sleep on my left side anymore, I haven't been able to sleep on the right side in a long time. Obviously sleeping on the tummy is going to squish the baby and the stuffing out of me and sleeping on my back makes the baby push on my insides and then I am in pain. How am I supposed to sleep for the next 40 days?

8. I need my hair trimmed. I noticed yesterday that my split ends have split ends and those split ends have split ends too. That's not good.

I'm sure there are more I needed to share but I'm still thinking about the 40 days thing!
