Crazy pregnant dreams and other pregnant stuff...
2 nights ago I had a dream. Not so pleasant. Not so much fun. But I did give birth in it. It went like this.
I was in jail (of all places)...me?...right there...in jail...just totally crazy! It was the most dark, rank jail I've ever seen in my life. I felt the baby kicking and the baby's foot was basically under the skin of my stomach but protruding so far out of my body I could grab on to it (and basically play this little piggy went to the market). One minute I'm grabbing the baby's foot, the next I'm holding the baby's foot and giving birth all at the same time (as in, holding the baby's foot yet watching the head come out). Of course I let go of the foot even though the baby was early. And when it arrived, it was a boy. I don't know...does that mean it's a boy. If so...you're 0 for 2, A-Pop! Utoh! The dream ended before I could say the baby's name too so I'm not gonna say it here either.
I've given in to accepting that I now have pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome. It surfaced in Hawaii in my right hand/arm/wrist/fingers/etc. and it's only gotten worse. And as of Sunday I finally broke down and bought a wrist brace for my right arm. Wouldn't you know it, now my left one is bothering me too. Aahhhhhhh!!! I can't sleep comfortably because my arms fall asleep in any/all positions. My hands feel achy like I have lime disease in them. The only thing keeping me sane is the fact that the doctor said it would go away 2 or 3 weeks after birth (if anyone knows differently, don't tell me cause I am grasping at that one light at the end of my tunnel...I mean it...don't say a word or we're not friends).
I swear earlier today I had a foot in between two of my ribs and it was trying to pry them apart.
Today I have 54 days left until baby's EDD (estimated due date...this is the last time I'm spelling this out). I'm not nervous about birth, i'm not nervous about being a mom but I am so not prepared at home...yeah I have the room painted and the chair rail up, yeah I have the infant car seat just in case, yeah I have a cradle (which by the way, I slept in as did the rest of the family too...not last night though...when we were baby's...teehee :-) ), yeah I have a package of newborn diapers and yeah I have a small package of breast pads in case of leakage.....But ask me if I have any clothes, anything for the baby to wear home from the hospital, any of the essentials...ask me if I've had a baby shower...NO!...NO!...NO!...NO!...and...NO! to all of the above. Ask me if I've cleaned out the baby's room of the cradge we've been storing there...NO!...But that is my own fault and I've made some progress but not done by any stretch of the imagination. Ask me if I was in nesting mode last Saturday and woke up at 6, laid in bed for an hour and when I finally had enough of pretending I might be able to fall back asleep I shot out of bed like a rocket ship and proceeded to overturn the couch and the chair and a half in the living room and vacuum not only the floor underneath the furniture but also the underside of the furniture. That's where all the pet hair goes to hide, in all the mechanisms of the couch and chair....iew gross! I also not only vacuumed the area rug in the living room but overturned the rug and vacuumed the underside of it and vacuumed the floor underneath it. I decided I didn't like the book shelf the cook book were on in the kitchen, so I made hubbie go get the other one from upstairs so I could swap them. And you know the nesting thing is bad when I not only reorganized the cook books and magazines but put the magazines in date order. So if you need a "Cooking Light" magazine from the past 4 years, just let me know, I can find it in a flash because they are in yearly and monthly order. :-) CRAZY! Totally crazy!!! And what did hubbie do? Well he puttered around too a little bit. he mostly just warned Guinness to stay clear of the Tazmanian Devil that was whirling around the house or else he might get sucked up by the vacuum too. The downstairs was essentially spotless, but upstairs, another story. Grrrrr! Never know, maybe I'll get an urge this weekend or something.
Oh My Goodness!!! This heartburn is killing me! Buy stock in Tums!
Did I really shower this morning, dry off, get dressed, straighten up for the cleaning people, feed the cat, let the dog out, eat my oatmeal, get my lunch together and THEN...go into the bathroom to blow dry my hair and ... WHY WOULDN'T MY HAIR DRY ...Ummm...maybe because I never rinsed the conditioner out of it!!! I fluttered around the house no kidding for an hour doing all those other things before i got around to the blow drying part and then had to wet my head all over again. Grrrr!!! Hmmm...Could have something to do with the fact that I woke up just before 1 a.m. this morning, went to pee and then couldn't fall back asleep and finally after tossing and turning for an hour and a half I went downstairs and cuddled on the couch with the cat. I am so tired! Please send me home!
54 DAYS! Give or take! Depends on when baby arrives. I'm sure because of my anticipation, the baby will be here later (sorry A-Pop). The baby is head down right now and at this very moment I feel that foot thumping my rib and my sternum bone and when I push on it it high fives me. I can't wait for pay back when the baby is born and I can tickle that Li'l Foot! My little Thumper!

Still waiting for Hawaii...
I read the entire post, but I'm still stuck on you putting the magazine's in date order. And, sorry, but I have to tell the story.
Around this time 3 years ago when I was practically living at the F residence, I woke on a Saturday morning to a particular and familiar sound of plastic jewel cases clanging together. Woobie and I sleepily shuffled out of the bedroom to see PF in front of the entertainment center with roughly 20 piles of CD's -- all in their respective cases -- stacked around her in a fort-like fashion. She peered up at me with a look of guilt and when I asked what she was doing, she hung her head and mumbled.
"What?" I asked again.
"I'm alfmummblemumble."
"One more time."
"I'm ALPHABETIZING, OKAY?"
"You're alphabetizing."
"Yes."
"At 7:15."
"Yes."
"A FUCKING M."
"Yes."
"On a Saturday?"
"YES!"
"And I'm FRIENDS WITH YOU??"
And she explained that while looking for a particular Christmas CD that was required to be played during the wrapping of purchased holiday gifts, she was plagued by the disorganization of the cabinet. I need not explain further.
And no. I didn't help. Me and the dog were too busy laughing.
Back then, the excuse of pregnancy was invalid. With child or not, magazines will be filed by date, CD's by artists last name, and moving boxes will be color coordinated by room, numbered, and labeled by contents.
It's why we love her, people. It's just why we love her.
