On polliwogs...

As heard from our couch during the Yankees game on Saturday afternoon...

The TV: And that ends the (whichever inning it was) folks, the Yankees trailing the Mets (a lot to a little - whatever the score was at that time)

Me: The Yankees suck Polliwogs!!!
(After a brief pause to ponder what I just said)
Hubbie: Do you even know what a polliwog is?
Me: No, it just came out, it sounded good at the time!!! :-)
Hubbie: Hmmm
Me: Why what is it?
Hubbie: It's a guy in the Navy that paints the ships
Me: Oh
(Insert another brief pause to ponder)
Me: Well, if you want to get technical...it's Fleet Week here in NY...there's a bunch of Navy guys in town this week!!! So...yeah...Yankees suck polliwogs!!!


And now it is Monday afternoon and i've just looked polliwog up in the dictionary and now I'm thoroughly confused. it says that a polliwog is a tadpole. Hmmm...learn something new every day.

Either way...the Yankees suck 'em!
