The Tales of Li'l Foot...

One mom's journey through motherhood

So many things...

...I want to blog about, yet none of the topics seems gripping or riveting enough to really talk about. I'm feeling boring. I'm feeling a bit intimidated by some of the other mommy blogs out there. They write so well. Can I really consider myself a mommy blogger? Really? Probably not. I can't even get my own mom to read my blog for heavens sake...what makes me think anyone else is interested in reading about my boring life. Is it really worth it to blog anymore? I need to do a bit of soul searching to determine it's worth.

Until then...some tidbits...in case anyone is interested...

Li'l Foot fell off the chair and onto the floor and bonked her nose. She's fine...I was a wreck!!

I'm feeling really out of sorts these days...I just want to be home...I don't like my job anymore.

Hubbie and I played a game of guess what's in my M&M cup...(see boring..I'm so boring I'm playing stupid M&M guessing games with hubbie). It went like this. He got some M&M's for himself...he does this thing where he knows the M&M's are gonna make noise and he's immediately "caught red handed" without me even seeing what he's doing. He tries to pour them ever so slowly, but it's kind of this thing he does just to get a reaction out of me. I didn't react...I waited. He came in to the living room, sat down and popped the M&M's (apparently 4 M&M's are popped at a time so that each side of his mouth has 2 M&M's each - Hmmmm..I'll have to ask him what he does if he winds up uneven at the end like with only 3 left). So I get all miffed because...WTF...he doesn't even ask if I want some??? So I go into the kitchen, get my own cup full of M&M's and slam cupboards just so he "knows" I'm not happy. I come back in the living room and he's all "What?" I say..."What?...how 'bout you're selfish!!!" And he responds with..."You didn't ask for any!" And to that I hiss!!! I'd just like to be considered once. Just once. Anyway...I ate my M&M's ever so slightly shifting each one so that the reds were on one side of the cup, the browns another, the blues another, the greens another...etc. It really doesn't work out so well but whatever it was a way to pass the time. At one point I get down to the same amount of M&M's of each color then the games start...

Me: I have the same amount of each color M&M in my cup, how many of each color do I have?
Hubbie: 4
Me: Nope
Hubbie: 3
Me: Nuh Uh!
Hubbie: 1
Me: Nope (teehee)
Hubbie: More or less?
Me: More
Hubbie 5
Me: Nope
Hubbie: 6
Me: YUP!!!

And then he doesn't come up with his own game so I come up with another one...

Me: I have made a smiley face with my M&M's, what color are the yes, the nose and the mouth and none of them have been repeated at all?
Hubbie: The eyes are brown and green
Me: one is green, but what's the other one
Hubbie: Green aaaaaaaaaaaand blue
Me: nope
Hubbie: green and red
Me: yup!!! what color is the nose?
Hubbie: green
Me: HELLO I just told you none of the colors are repeated!!!
Hubbie: Oh...The nose is blue!
Me: Yup, now the smile?
Hubbie: Blue, brown, orange & red
Me: NO REPEATS!!!!
Hubbie: Grrr...What were the eye colors
Me: green and red
Hubbie: So the mouth should be Orange, brown and yellow
Me: yup

So then he decides he's gonna get in the action...

Hubbie: I have 5 M&M's in a row, what sequence are they in?
Me: Oh goodness...red, blue, green, yellow, orange
Hubbie: Nope
Me: Are any of them right?
Hubbie: Yup - the blue one

After about 5 minutes of guessing I finally had the sequence right. And he so cheated, there were two that were the same color!!!

And then I could tell you about when we had Li'l Foot's car seat put in the cars by the police officer at the safety inspection. And after the police officer was all done I sat in my truck, and tried to see Li'l Foot in the baby mirror that is in front of her because she is rear facing and then I can see her in the rearview mirror. Well I turned my body around toward the back seat and look directly in the mirror and told hubbie I couldn't see her...and that's when he told me to turn around and actually look in the rearview mirror like I'm supposed to and then maybe I'd be able to see her...so I did...and I could...Total mommy brain...jeepers!!!

I could also tell you that today marks a memorable moment in my tales of pumping. I have a friend. Another new mommy just came back to work and she's using the room now too. She emailed me this morning and I showed her the ropes. I even had THE KEY and had to unlock the door for her. I will be sharing my key with her until the maintenance guy gives her one of her very own. That makes me somewhat special...no?

I could also tell you that insurance is going to cover our little mini disaster from a couple weeks ago when we had all that rain. Up to $5,000 which is almost perfect because the new oil burner is going to cost just about that much.

Would you care if I told you that this morning when I dropped Li'l Foot off at daycare and upon almost handing her off to the staff member, Li'l Foot promptly spit up on my shoulder leaving a trail of slimey gooey snot lined stuff. I love the ocean Nose drops for her nasal congestion but once they drip down into her throat they come out her mouth in the form of milky spit uppy slimey gooey snot. So now all day long every so often I get a wiff of Ode Du Li'l Foot bouquet and MAN...I WREAK!!!! YUCK!! Just keep muttering...it's a badge of honor...no life is complete without spit up on your shirt.

I could tell you about my "to-do list" and the many items that have been sitting on that list for WEEKS now and not one of them has been completed because I just don't feel like it. Not to mention our house is a wreck because I'm never home to tidy up and I actually told our cleaning people to not come today because there's just no point in them coming if they can't do their job efficiently because I haven't tidied up yet. Can I just crawl into a hole? I'm just not into anything these days.

I'm in a dark place right now and just need to wiggle my way out of it I guess. And I know I should probably just delete this entry because it only further proves my point about not being worth it at all. But I won't I guess. Pft!!!!

Why should Mom read your blog when she has an open invitation to the real thing, like whenever she wants. I bet she'd read Ted's blog, hmmm, I guess that wouldn't make you feel better, hmmm. This will make you feel better: you get open access to her whenever you want, all the time. Need a sitter, call Mom. Want company for dinner, call Mom. She doesn't ever get to miss you or Hubbie, or Cassie, so she doesn't need to read your blog. Pretty damn lucky if you ask me. Last time she was at my house, hmmm, oh yeah, she needed a ride to and from the airport, twice, in the worst snow I had to drive in this past winter, without snow tires, uphill, both ways.

I think you need to plan a summer vacation. Like at the jersey shore. In a vacation rental. For a week with your family.

I think her blog was her excuse to avoid school work. Now that she doesn't have to sit in front of the 'puter...

I keep a bag of m&m dark in my refrigerator under my desk. Before I can eat them I have to line them up (in rainbow order) so I have the same number of each color, eat the left overs, then start across the rows. I don't like the browns. Brown doesn't make sense. Purple would make sense. I told my friend at M&M/Mars my thoughts on brown. She says they get that a lot. Don't expect purple any time soon. Anyone want to trade a bag of brown m&m's for red, blue, or green? B likes uh-whoa (yellow).

Oh my gosh...B is adorable uh-whoa...that's hysterical

I think it must be in our genes somewhere cause I do the same thing with separating them and making sure all are the same counted.

I don't get the brown ones either...they're random! Remember the light brown ones before there were blue ones?

Seriously? You have major M&M issues. What would happen if you ate two of a different color at the same time?

Don't you have CD's to alphabetize?

Hee! You know I love you.

Here I am ladybug! *waves*

CDs are already alphabetized and packing tape wrapped so B can't pull 'em apart. DVDs are organized by owner (G or B) and then by studio (Disney, Nick Jr., Nickelodeon, Baby Einstein) and then alphabetically.

Yep, problems. Do you think my OCD is borderline or is it full-blown?

OK....
1. M&M's... yup, I used to do that too, when I could eat them. Now I catch C and V doing it, too. Must be genetic.
2. Ted has a blog?
3. V calls Mom almost every other night. She's suffering withdrawl like I am.
4. Ladybug.. do you have a blog? LMK

Oh, almost forgot... no, the CD alphabetizing thing isn't genetic. I'm lucky if I can FIND mine! :)
