My 1st Mother's Day
I love my daughter, I love my hubbie, I love our families and I love being a mom.
First of all...beyond cute is the card that daycare took the time to make for me from Li'l Foot. Remember I told you all a couple weeks ago that we suspected something was up because we found red between her fingers and stuff. Well I had figured out why, but hadn't seen what it was until Mother's Day...oh the torture of waiting to see.
And, hubbie did a wonderful jobat buying a Mother's Day gift for me. I'm truly touched and LOVE it. Someday my charm bracelet is going to look like my fgrandmother's did when I was growing up. I remember knowing when my grandmother was around by the jingle jangle of her charm bracelet. I have that charm bracelet actually except most of the charms were dispersed to the respective grandchildren they belonged to. One day, I will no lnoger wear a necklace with L'il Foot's charm on it but I will graduate to a charm bracelet and then my grandchildren can one day remember me by the jingle jangle of my charm bracelet as I remember my grandmother. Nostalgia is an amazing thing. I have been blessed to be one of the most sentimental fools you will ever know. One day I'll make a list for you of the things I keep for sentimental reasons...not today though. Today is about updating my picture montage I call a blog.
Mother's Day was beautiful. The weather was amazing (a bit windy with a slight chill, but amazing nonetheless). We had our families over for a BBQ. Hubbie busted his butt on Saturday to get the yard shaped up for company. There was a ton of yummy food. Hubbie and I went to mass first thing Sunday morning. Well anyone who's been to mass on Mother's Day knows the priest does a blessing of the mothers where we stand up and he blesses us. It's pretty straight forward. Leave it to me to cry my eyes out because I was so touched by being blessed as a mother for my first mother's day. I recall last year sitting in the pew in the way back and contemplating as I sat there, having just confirmed the day before that I suspected I was pregnant, whether I should stand up for the mother's blessing or not. I didn't last year, I chickened out and got nervous that someone would look at me like I was a freak.
After mass we fought the masses at the diner and got breakfast. Li'l Foot sat like a big girl in her high chair that we bring with us (thank you Auntys Moey and Moser it's awesome and so take-with-us-able!!!!
After breakfast we just prepped for our guests and Li'l Foot was goold enough to nap so I could actually get stuff done. I love that little girl...she is the bestest EVER!!!
Happy Mother's day to all. Loving you!

Looks like someone is experimenting with sepia photos. she's soooooo cute!
Always knew Boppi was around... it was so awesome... still makes me cry thinking about it. That's why I've been building my bracelet. To remind me of her. My charm bracelet is getting there. Now that I know you want to add to yours, I see charms in your future. :)
